Bought 3kg of Mini Eggs for our Simnels – used 1kg and appear to missing the remainder!! They’re SO good tho!!

Rabbits, Chicks and Easter Eggs!

Easter’s on it’s way again and it’s a hive of activity in our chocolate area this week.

We’re busy making hundreds of individually decorated eggs and bunnies for all those chocoholics out there to enjoy.

The ovens are full of Simnel cakes and I’m desperately trying to avoid the jar of Mini Eggs used for decoration!!! Hard tho!!

Today we’re the proud “parents” of two new additions to the Harrogate Cake Co family….our mini loaves have been born.

Hitting the shelves in the next week, these individual loaves are the first in this new range.

As the firm favourites we’re starting Yorkshire Tea and Gingerbread loaves – closely followed by a couple of zesty new flavours for summer. (One of which is being excitedly pursued by a major retailer – great news!)

So now you don’t have to share – you can enjoy this one all to yourself !

Busy week – our sheep are in the middle of lambing (know how all you new mothers feel…having to bottle feed 5 at the moment)! Our biggest week of the year so far for our Tea and Ginger loaves – we made 278 loaves today….all ready to wrap tomorrow!

At Fodder this weekend doing an Easter egg tasting – so pop in and see me if you’re passing….should be a busy day, especially with the Flower Show at the Yorkshire Showground too.

At Weetons of Harrogate today for Easter Egg tastings – so come along, it would be great to meet you.

This lovely weather is fab but it’s been playing havoc with the temperature in the bakery - not great chocolate making weather!! Was there til 1am this morning waiting for the temperature to come down sufficiently to work…..but it needs to be perfect to make these lovely Eggs for our customers.

Forgot to mention earlier – had a great time getting involved with being a guest diner at the recent filming of a new TV show with Gino D’Acampo.
